Check this video of George Bush demonstrating awesome reflexes to dodge shoes thrown by an Iraqi journalist. A career in Dodgeball beckons for Bush when he leaves office in January. It’s apparently the traditional way to show your displeasure over there. Maybe our journalists should import this? Maybe Paxman should slip off his shoes and pelt politicians who refuse to answer?

Well, I don’t think that say it anymore but that might well have the best games ever! I was hooked on the whole thing and was sad to see it end. And then during the closing ceremony, we saw what London had to offer. It certainly had a different flavour but it was surely marred by some technical problems? I could hardly hear a word Leona Lewis was singing, although she looked and I liked the sound of what I did hear. Boris Johnson did London proud by not sticking to the stifling orthodoxy of the solemn script, and came in laughing, grinning and generally seemed to enjoying the moment. Why not, it’s a celebration of sport not a funeral. He was also excellent in his speech at London House after where he declared to the world, “Ping Pong is coming home!”
