It was the finale of Grease Is The Word tonight, with Danny B vs Anthony, and Susan vs Michelle for the two coveted positions in the West End.
Series producer Simon Cowell had reportedly called the series a mistake, which seems a bit harsh whilst people are still working on it.
You’d have to say all four put on a fantastic display in the final. It genuinely seemed too close to call on the night, but Danny and Susan triumphed.
I had rooted for Anthony through most of the series but Danny really looked and sounded the part so he richly deserved the win when it came. Michelle’s vocals hadn’t been the strongest throughout the series but she was on the money tonight, which made it a closer run thing than I had expected, but Susan knocked it out of the park.
They should be appearing in the West End in about 6 weeks time.

Big Brother contestant Emily was seen using the N word in last night’s Big Brother. Unlike their last race row, Channel 4 didn’t waste any time and she was called to the diary room at 03:00 and removed from the house. The N word to me is offensive and inappropriate in any context. There’s some massive contradictions about the word and how it’s acceptable to be used by others but that’s a debate for another time, and I don’t like it at all.
That said, Channel 4 has got this all screwed up. If someone has been racist, they need to be seen to be punished. Yes, Emily was punished by being removed, but she was also an object of pity and probably sympathy, as she was dragged out of bed at 3 in the morning for her ignorance to be fully revealed. The editing also showed the most direct victim - Charley - bitching and stirring up trouble in the house. Talk about mixed messages.
The fact is, Emily probably isn’t racist but stupid, and rather than be thrown out, she could have been educated somehow and the issue be dealt with in the house. When racist language was used in the Celeb Big Brother House, with actual malicious intent, the culprits were allowed to stay. It seems Emily paid the price for Channel 4’s failure to properly deal with that issue.
The makers have a warped sense of priorities in my opinion.

In a fantastic episode of the Apprentice, Katie proved herself as the most capable person there and then promptly quit the race. Was she ever interested in a job with Sir Alan? Did this global brand consultant earning 90k really want to come and work for Amstrad in Brentwood, Essex?
Sir Alan dispensed with the services of Lohit (”too nice”) and Tre (too full of BS) and that leaves Simon and Kristina for the final.
You’re Fired on BBC2 was also fantastic as Katie got in an almighty ding dong with some brassy blonde caleld Michelle from an underwear company called Ultimo.
This YouTube clip gives a flavour of the battle, although this official edit for posting online by the BBC lacks some of the heat of the actual argument.
The two went head to head and Katie emerged victorious. This woman will go far. You kind of get the impression she could do anything she wanted if she put her mind to it.

This Is Your Life returned on Saturday, with a new host (Trevor McDonald) and Simon Cowell was the first to get the red book treatment. It was a pretty good show that ended with the the TV highlight of the weekend - Leona Lewis and Il Divo performing “Somewhere”. Someone’s posted it up on Youtube, so check out the video below and check out Simon’s dodgy acting (”wow”) when Leona comes on - as if he didn’t plan the whole thing!
